Why does Multiple Multitudes exist?

Seeing this project just flash into existence may make you wonder: Why did anyone make Multiple Multitudes?

The short answer is: Those of us behind this project saw a need!

The authors have come together to encourage more respectful and nuanced discussions in the community. Our team is composed of contributors from a variety of backgrounds that can provide many different perspectives within blog posts rather than only focusing on one view that may not be respectful of every experience out there. 

Before posting, articles are subject to an extensive internal review process, where contributors to the site evaluate and critique other’s work on a volunteer basis. This doesn’t mean every article will cater to every experience–but it does mean that no article should be placing any perspective above another or talking over another community. Additionally, all posts will have comments available to encourage discussion and input from readers, and later revisions can always be made if anything was overlooked. 

We also have the added bonus of our own site. By hosting long-form content we can explore topics in greater detail and by having our own site we should eventually be accessible via search engines far more easily. We’ve also taken the time to add additional content categories and tags to the site that will allow for easy searching within the blog itself. Pages of the site are also soon to be dedicated to resource lists and connections to other blogs and creators to serve as a way to better connect the community. 

As far as article submissions go, we are happy to host articles written by others within the community regardless of whether or not they have an existing platform. To submit an article email us at contact@multiplemultitudes.org or reach out to us on Socials (@multimultitudes on X/Twitter and Instagram, MultipleMultitudes on Tumblr). Submitted articles will also be subject to revision by the team to ensure clear communication and respectful commentary :). Our team may also be expanding as we go, so we will keep you updated as things continue to change behind the scenes.
